At the start of the 2026/27 academic year, the Salzburger Hochschulkonferenz (SHK) invited international exchange students to its traditional Welcome Reception. This year's event was hosted by the FH Salzburg, where around 150 international students received a warm welcome in the Audimax at Campus Urstein. The event took place during the #ErasmusDays, which this year are held under the theme “Union of Skills.”

The event was opened by the rectors of Salzburg’s higher education institutions, who welcomed the students to Salzburg’s vibrant academic and research community and wished them every success as they embark on this new chapter of their lives. Representatives of Innovation Salzburg also introduced the diverse opportunities offered by Salzburg as a centre for innovation, business and entrepreneurship.

The cultural programme featured musical performances by the Salzburger Kulturvereinigung, giving the international guests a special insight into Salzburg’s rich cultural landscape. During the subsequent get-together, students had the opportunity to meet new people, exchange experiences and build their first cross-institutional networks.
